How to recognize anxiety in yourself and your kids

There are a number of different warning signs for anxiety. Some of them may seem obvious but others more surprising.

Here is a list of some of the different ways anxiety can affect you:

  • rapid heartbeat

  • trouble breathing

  • frequent headaches

  • stomach problems

  • sweating

  • shaking

  • difficulty sleeping

  • trouble concentrating

  • memory issues

  • frequent need for reassurance

  • overthinking

  • panic attacks

  • avoidance

  • constant worry

  • lack of patience

  • procrastination

It is important to keep in mind that anxiety affects everyone differently and most people will not have every one of these warning signs. If you have a few of these symptoms without another cause, it may be a sign of anxiety. If you are concerned that you or your child is struggling with anxiety, feel free to contact us at La Canada Psychology for a free phone consultation.
